This exam is different from any exam you’ve taken before. More hours and more question banks don’t fix the wrong system. Common patterns include using too many resources, studying from questions instead of a core system, weak test-taking strategy, lack of repetition, and unstructured or burned-out studying.
The “Failed Pediatric Boards article” breaks these down and shows how to correct them so your next attempt isn’t just “more of the same.”

It’s not that much. That’s the great thing about it. It’s just high value. Once you have the right understanding of exactly how to use a system, you can do it without guessing. It depends, but we’ll give you a rough number. What matters even more than the number of hours is how those hours are used, when you start studying, how many repetitions of the material you do, and whether your plan is realistic. We guide you on all of this in the beginning so you don’t waste time and miss your targets. As a high-risk test taker, you should plan for at least 500 hours of focused, structured prep, spread over weeks to months rather than crammed into the last few weeks. Depending on your personal factors, more hours may make sense, and less would rarely be appropriate.
